ABOUT KEVIN

Kevin PierceWith hundreds of custom sets under his belt, Production Designer Kevin Pierce excels at transforming ideas and words into colorful landscapes that delight the eye and stir the senses. Born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Charleston, SC, Kevin's astute sense of design, form and function began at a very young age. His father's mechanical background as a Naval engineer, coupled with the aesthetic sensibilities of his mother, an interior designer, forged the perfect amalgamation that encouraged him to fearlessly design and construct whatever he could imagine.

After studying communications at the University of London and completing the Film and Theatre program at Trident College in Charleston, Kevin decided to apply his creativity to the entertainment industry and began teaching youth film studies at the Gibbs Museum of Art School in historic downtown Charleston. Soon after, he moved to Atlanta, GA, where he was welcomed into the film community and distinguished himself by winning an ADDY Award for his "Fireworks" sculpture design for Turner Broadcast Networks.

Nearly 20 years later, having lived and established himself in both New York City and Los Angeles , Kevin has successfully managed to balance his boundless visual creativity and love for design with a disciplined awareness of budgets, schedules and crew management. Luminaries such as Oprah Winfrey and Spike Lee as well as diverse clients such as NASCAR, Playboy, HBO, the NBA and the Army National Guard's eXportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) Program have all relied on him to create spectacular, multidimensional sets and environments.

Whether he's designing a 30-second television commercial, a music video, a two-hour feature film, a party for the Hollywood stars or an Afghan village for military training, Kevin possesses the rare ability to work calmly and methodically through would-be problems while maintaining the vision and confidence necessary to see the finished product – long before it has been completed. It is this marriage of equanimity and imagination that allows him to adapt quickly under pressure and lead his crew of talented artisans through the obstacles inherent in any creative process.

Kevin can usually be found working, playing and enjoying life in Los Angeles, New York or at home in the high desert of New Mexico.
